Walks with Gracie

I always love my walks with Gracie.But,I would have to say that my favorite time is in the early morning hours,before the sun comes up.5am is about the best time,it's quiet there is no one out to distract me or Gracie from the walk.And most dogs are either inside or in  a backyard,so there is no danger of getting bit or Gracie getting in a fight.I like the quiet,no traffic,especially on the weekends.It's nice and cool outside,I can think and Gracie can investigate all the street light poles,bushes and tree trunks.I usually take my time in the mornings,it gives Gracie the chance to do her personal stuff and to find out whose around the nieghborhood as far as dogs.She usually comes back home ready to take a nap with me.I sleep with my door closed when my roommate is home,so I have Gracie sleeping at the end of the bed.When he's at work,she sleeps out in the living room or in front of my open door.She sleeps where she is able to guard both te front door and my bedroom door.She is very protective,my roommate can't even get near me when I'm in my room.She parks herself in front of the bathroom door when I'm in the bathroom.I have to admit,having Gracie makes me feel safe.No one can get near the house without Gracie knowing that they are there.How cool is that?
